FAQ

Why do you use Tallow?

Tallow is a versatile and traditional ingredient that has been used in skincare for centuries. It is a nutrient-rich fat that is rendered from the suet of animals such as cows, sheep, or goats. While some people might be hesitant to use tallow in their skincare routine due to its animal-derived origins, it is important to note that tallow from healthy animals raised on pasture can be a sustainable and ethical choice. Here are some of the benefits of using tallow in your skincare:

In conclusion, tallow is a valuable and time-tested ingredient in skincare. It provides a range of benefits for the skin, from moisturization to anti-inflammatory properties and protection of the skin barrier. If you are interested in trying tallow-based skincare products, we use only organic, grass-fed, ethically sourced tallow in our products.

My tallow balm is grainy, what happened?

Melted tallow balm can sometimes become grainy, which can make it seem spoiled. However, this is usually not the case.

Tallow is a stable fat that has a long shelf life, so it does not spoil easily. The graininess can be caused by the separation of the tallow and the other ingredients in the balm. This can happen if the balm gets too hot and the tallow starts to solidify at a different rate than the other ingredients.

To fix this issue, the melted tallow balm can be gently heated to melt everything together again. The best way to do this is to place the container in a bowl of warm water, making sure not to get any water inside the container. Once melted, place the tallow balm in the fridge or freezer to quickly cool all the ingredients together. Once cooled, stir the balm until it becomes smooth and creamy again.

It's important to note that if the balm has developed an off smell or mold, it should be discarded and not used. But in most cases, a grainy or separated tallow balm can be easily fixed with gentle heating, cooling and stirring.

My product melted, is it bad?

At our company, we take pride in ensuring that our products arrive at your doorstep in pristine condition, just as they were when they left our facility. However, once the products leave our hands and are shipped, we have limited control over their storage and handling. Shipping during the summer months can be particularly challenging for natural products like our lip and tallow balms, which have a melting point between 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit. Shipping trucks can easily reach temperatures above this range, which may cause your product to melt during transit.

But don't worry! If your product arrives in a melted state, there's no need to panic. It's still perfectly fine to use. Simply allow the product to cool down and solidify again, or if you prefer, you can remelt the balm and pour it back into its container. The quality and effectiveness of the product will not be compromised by melting, as the ingredients remain intact and functional.

It's worth noting that while we take every possible precaution to prevent melting during shipping, it may still occur in some cases. If you have any concerns about the condition of your product upon arrival, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for assistance. We're here to help you enjoy the benefits of our natural products in the best possible condition.
